Notes
Flying the model
The collective hovers at the white mark on its bar: the centre for the MH-6, higher for the heavier airframes. A touchdown faster than the aircraft's limit (4 m/s and 15° of tilt for the Little Birds) is a crash. The cyclic commands a rate: deflect and the aircraft keeps rolling or pitching until you centre it, as in the game. Tap and centre; do not hold deflection.
Views
The chase view shows how the aircraft is sitting: the tilt of the rotor disc is the clearest picture of what the cyclic is doing. The cockpit puts you in the seat with a fixed sight on the nose line. The gunner view adds the weapons HUD, and the left mouse button fires. The map shows where you are, with an attitude indicator in the corner. V cycles views.
Ground
Landscape swaps the grid for fields, hedges, trees and farms, generated from coordinates so it is the same every time. Trees and buildings are solid. Hills give the ground shape; every height is then above the ground beneath you, like a radar altimeter. The pads stay level and the corridor is always kept clear.
Debrief and replay
When a drill ends you get charts of what you actually flew, with your previous run faint behind it, plus a replay you can scrub and export as a video.
