How to aim the Little Bird miniguns in Wardogs

You aim the whole helicopter, not the guns. Knowing where the two streams cross turns spray into hits.

Where the rounds go

The AH-6M's guns hang low on the left and right of the fuselage, so the two streams cross at one range and diverge either side of it. ProLosco puts the crossing point at about 30 m, citing the developer's CEO.

RangeWhere to aim (ProLosco, GhostGaming, Hieb)
Closer than ~30 mBelow centre. The streams split left and right, so commit to the nearer one and walk it onto the target.
About 30 mDead centre.
Further outThe top-right quadrant of the reticle, just right of the top line. The offset tilts with your bank.

Watch the tracers and impacts, not the reticle, and correct during the burst rather than before it (GhostGaming, Hieb).

Fly slow to shoot well

ProLosco's rule: above about 100 km/h you lose most of your pitch authority and only yaw steers, so your shots are poor. Below it you have full control. He aims with yaw for the big correction and mouse roll for the fine one, because roll is the more precise of the two. To attack without orbiting: slow down, leave the collective alone, and just yaw and roll onto the target.

The drill

Five ground targets sit along the corridor north of the pad. Lift off, put five rounds into each with the miniguns, and land on the far pad. You have 600 rounds. Each target is a ring 6 m across with a flag on a post; a round inside the ring is a hit and five hits knock it down. Rounds drop with range, so aim a touch high further out using the 200, 400 and 600 m marks under the sight. Slow and steady beats fast: every twitch of the cyclic moves the sight.
