Season 2 lands on October 15. Here is what the developers have said publicly and what it means in the cockpit.

Dates and the wipe

Parachutes at 25 m (why this matters)

The minimum parachute pull height was always meant to be 25 m, not ~2.5 m. The devs are raising it so pilots “swoop in, J‑turn, land in the zone,” not act as a teleporter. Expect far more real landings in hot zones again. Practise the J‑hook, clean touchdown and hot drop.

Rain and visibility

Rain is a per‑map weather state (it does not roll in mid‑match) and beads on windscreens. Cockpit visibility drops when it rains; plan for more third‑person checks on approach.

What to practise this week

  1. Landings under pressure: tighten your J‑hook and clean touchdown.
  2. Terrain masking: stay below the lock line, flare late, and change direction after flaring. Circle‑strafe over CIWS/Talon blind spots.
  3. Havoc handling: slow for gun angles; do not launch into two‑team AA.
